Google announced on Thursday the release of its latest product: the Google Keep Chrome app. Google Keep was launched for Web and Android in March, and was described by many as an Evernote competitor. However, Evernote still reigns supreme as the go-to note-taking app.
Google Keep for Chrome allows you to jot down notes, cross off to-do lists, and attach photos to various tasks. Even better, the app works entirely offline, so you can keep going even without an Internet connection. Whenever you do reconnect, the app will automatically sync all of your new information with the app across your multiple devices.
Although the app can be downloaded from the Chrome Web Store, the Google Keep Chrome app is not a Chrome extension at all. In fact, Keep can operate as a standalone app even if Chrome is not running.

In general, Google Keep is a service that lets you keep track of all your notes in one place. The service lets you “save ideas and organize to-dos the moment they happen by creating notes, lists, photos and voice recordings.”
